Outreach is a Christian community service organization providing counseling, case management, youth development, older adult service, and community development. For 50 years, Outreach has changed the lives of thousands of individuals, children, youth, and families in DuPage County, IL, and we are seeking to hire a diverse staff of highly competent professional employees to pursue Outreach’s mission to restore hope and provide opportunities for people to become all that God intends them to be.
 

Outreach is hiring a part-time Receptionist (Bilingual Preferred) at Outreach Carol Stream to carry out and support front desk responsibilities. Hours: Tuesdays 8:30am to 3:00pm and Thursdays 1:00pm to 7:00pm.

Responsibilities:

  • The PT Receptionist is responsible for answering phones and welcoming clients and visitors.
  • The PT Receptionist is responsible for triaging casework calls, program fee processing and tracking, and managing mail.
  • Provide administrative support for the Office Manager and program staff, including typing, filing, and translation work.

Requirement

Qualifications:  

  • Welcoming and professional manner with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Strong communication skills & telephone etiquette.
  • Previous receptionist and customer service experience. General knowledge of office procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; minimum typing speed of 45 wpm.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi–task.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of low-income and culturally diverse populations.
  • High school diploma. Bilingual ability in English and 1 of the following: Spanish, Arabic, or a dialect of Burma.
