Stone Church Child Care is currently seeking a highly skilled professional to join our dynamic team as an Assistant Director. As the successful candidate, you will possess the ability needed to drive continuous improvement and promote quality care within our organization. We are a faith-based, family-focused child care center in Orland Park. For over 25 years, we have excelled at professional care and personal attention with a focus on imparting the love of Jesus to each child. We care for children between 6 weeks and 6 years of age.
The Assistant Director of Stone Church Child Care will have combined duties as both a teacher and as an administrative manager.
- Teacher responsibilities include:
o Contribute to the development of each child spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally
o Teach a faith-based curriculum
o Follow all licensing guidelines and Stone Church’s standards
- Assistant Director responsibilities include:
o Collaborate with Director to promote new ideas and find solutions for issues
o Encourage high morale within the work environment
o Maintain the teacher to child ratio in every classroom
o Manage personnel and child files
o Open and close the childcare in partnership with the Director
o Ensure all DCFS standards are met at all times
Minimum qualifications:
- An associate degree pertaining to early childhood care and education; or at least 64 completed hours of college credit, with 21 of those hours pertaining to early childhood care and education
- A Gateways Director Credential or 3 college credit hours in administration, leadership, or management
Preferred qualifications:
- Have experience and love working with young children
- Be patient, creative, flexible
- Work effectively with a team
- Hold an associates or bachelors in early childhood education, elementary education, psychology, or a related field
Schedule:
Full-time shifts of either 6 am-2pm or 10am-6pm Monday through Friday.
