Division: | Outreach - York Outreach - York is a multi-purpose community resource center serving the residents of the Villa Park area. Programs include after-school and summer programs for children and youth in grades 1-8, supportive wrap-around services for program families and community organizing efforts in the neighborhood. |
Job Responsibilities: | The Academic Resource Teacher will get the chance to know a great group of energetic and loving 1st-5th grade students. The Elementary summer programs offer educational support, social and recreational activities, and field trips. The Academic Resource Teacher will have the opportunity to step into a resourcing role to support reading and math skill building and retention. Specific responsibilities include creating differentiated activities, use creativity to implement a variety of math and reading activities, and projects that engage a range of students. The Academic Resource Teacher will also supervise students during lunch, and other activities of the day. |

Requirement

Requirements: | A passion for working with elementary age students. Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field. Previous academic instructional experience with groups of students. Positive attitude and energetic presentation. A valid IL Driver’s License, good driving record and proof of insurance. A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Christian Faith is required. Bilingual (Spanish/ English) preferred. |

Compensation: | The hourly rate for this position falls between $16-$18.50 based on education, skills, and experience. Additional compensation for language ability. |
