| Division: | Outreach – Carol Stream at Villagebrook Apartments Outreach Carol Stream is partnering with the Villagebrook Apartments to provide educational support for its residents. The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream is responsible for the coordination of services at this site. The Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream is a multi-purpose, neighborhood resource center serving a low-income, ethnically diverse neighborhood. |
| Job Responsibilities: | The Co-Teacher partners with the Villagebrook Lead Teacher to supervise a group of 1st-3rd-grade students in educational curriculum, social and emotional skill building, problem solving and recreational activities. Responsibilities include relationship building, lesson planning, direct instruction around some program components, serving as back-up to the lead teacher, consulting with parents and transporting children for local field trips. |

Requirement

| Requirements: | A passion for working with children and previous classroom or group experience with elementary school students. Some early childhood education or elementary education coursework strongly preferred. Ability to come alongside the year-round Lead Teacher to carry out classroom responsibilities. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income and culturally diverse backgrounds. Valid IL driver’s license along with a good driving record and reliable transportation. A Commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith is required. |
| Status: | Full-time Temporary Summer Employment Staff Training | June 12 -15, 2023 Program Dates | June 19- August 11, 2023 Program Schedule| Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 4:30 pm. |
| Compensation: | The hourly rate for this position falls between $15 and $17 per hour based on education, skills, and experience. |
