| Division: | Puente del Pueblo – West Chicago Puente del Pueblo is an outreach of Wheaton Bible Church in partnership with Outreach Community Ministries. Puente del Pueblo is located on site at apartment complexes where services include case management, adult literacy, ESL, tutoring, after school and summer programming for elementary, junior high and high school students and community events. |
| Job Responsibilities: | The Summer Junior High Teacher is responsible for building relationships with at-risk junior high students in grades 6-9 and facilitating learning in the summer day program. Duties include working with groups of students in academic, life skills, STEM, social-emotional, and recreational instruction. The Summer Junior High teacher is also responsible for supporting program implementation, supervising students, managing behavior, and facilitating activities for students enrolled in program. Additional responsibilities include record keeping and transporting students as needed. |

Requirement

| Requirements: | A passion for working with junior high students; Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work or a related field; previous classroom teaching or group experience with adolescents; previous experience facilitating experiential or service learning strongly preferred; sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families and culturally diverse background; current, valid IL driver’s license along with a good driving record and reliable transportation. Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates preferred. A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith is required. |

| Compensation: | The hourly rate falls between $16 and $18.50 per hour based on education, skills, and experience. Additional compensation for language ability. |
